Simon from Darlinghurst

"I contracted Chris to help carry out a transformation of my heritage warehouse building in Darlinghurst. On purchase, the whole bottom floor of the building was very run down and being used as a mechanics workshop. We transformed it into my four bedroom residence with office space, bathrooms, a kitchen, stage, indoor garden and media room.

Chris clad every rendered and painted wall in the building with reclaimed bricks in a variety of patterns, bonds and ideas that were bespoke to my exact specifications.

Chris also tiled the entire floor in stone and clad some sections of the walls in stone tiles.  We introduced arches, bullseyes, columns, ramp walls and lots of character features.  Chris and I worked very well together. I had the ideas, imagination and vision and Chris executed the results, always checking in with me that we were on the same page while adding his own vast experience and creative flair.

Chris easily dealt with any changes to plans and ideas and was very flexible and open.  We made a great partnership."

Adam & Elise from Hunters Hill

"Chris is a thoroughly decent, honest and trustworthy craftsman and artisan, with impeccable manners and unrivalled skills in the art of masonry.

I engaged Chris to work on my property in Hunters Hill.  I had a vision of what I wanted and Chris helped me with lots of ideas about how to make this vision a reality.

The house was in need of restoration when I purchased it and together we transformed the outdoor areas, adding herringbone driveways, bonded retaining walls using stone and brick, pathways and a decorative feature barbeque.

Chris used mainly reclaimed brick and stone in a variety of heritage patterns with a stylish designer feel.  I wanted to add character but also create a timeless feel using reclaimed materials so that it looked as though it had always been there.

Chris and I worked easily and fluidly together.  He understood my ideas and we discussed and created them together in a great partnership.  Now my vision for the place has become a reality."

Ann & Jon from Coogee

"Chris has done many jobs for us including repair of sand stone paving, brick paving and re-pointing the brickwork for our 1920s house and garage.

Chris was reliable, professional and punctual.  He also has an eye for detail and the patience to finish the job to an exceptionally high standard.

I have no hesitation in recommending him for any stonemasonry or brickwork required."

Harold from Coogee

"I have engaged Winters Bricklaying & Restoration to repair long term deterioration in a sandstone boundary wall.

It is a remaining portion of a Gordon's Bay Estate Wall, probably built in the nineteenth century.

Chris has meticulously restored the mortar which had fallen away from
the sandstone blocks.  He has skillfully matched the appearance of other remaining sections of the Estate Wall.

His work is excellent and he was working daily on site after starting the job."

Jason & Melissa from Rozelle

"We recently had Chris carry out
brickwork in a number of
areas around our property
and throughout the project he took great care to ensure we achieved the result we were after.

Chris is an experienced and reliable tradesman who was also a real pleasure to have in our home.  We are completely satisfied in the work completed and we would not hesitate to engage his services in the future."
